My answer was that God is the center of the Anabaptist faith, which the Amish belong to, and therefore He cannot be left out. Have you ever been challenged with a less than positive critique? I enjoy the positive and non-judgmental way you deliver your stories. Given your background, have you ever thought of writing a memoir about your family history?īRUNSTETTER: I have never considered writing a memoir about my family history, but it might be fun to do it sometime.įQ: You have captured the essence of the beauty and simplicity of the Amish lifestyle and faith. They may also provide positive counsel when we need to make wise decisions. It’s a blessing to have a Christian friend, who is willing to lift us up when we go through difficult times, and offer encouragement with supportive words, or lend a helping hand when needed. There are occasions when we might get discouraged or mess up. Friends can boost our happiness and reduce any stress we might be dealing with.

Friends prevent isolation and loneliness. That is the kind of friend I wish to be also.

It’s a blessing to know that I can count on my dear Amish or English friends when I am faced with a problem or need words of encouragement.
